FAQ

1. What do I need to do or bring with me on the day of my tattoo appointment?

There are a couple of things you can do to help facilitate getting your tattoo.

Most importantly, you want to be as healthy as possible when you come in.

Eat an hour or so before your tattoo, or you may feel light headed or dizzy.

Do not drink alcohol or do drugs at least two days prior to getting tattooed. Class Act Tattoo does not tolerate any alcohol, drug, or intoxicants in the studio. We reserve the right to refuse services if you are suspected to be under the influence of anything. This might sound harsh, but your safety is more important to us than anything else.

Try to get a good night’s sleep the night before getting tattooed. Wear comfortable, dark, loose clothing that will easily allow access to the area to be tattooed.

It is OK to bring a beverage, especially water or fruit juice, with you in case you get thirsty during your tattoo.

Before getting started with the tattoo you will have to fill out our tattoo release form with valid photo ID (Drivers License or Passport, No Photocopies), please inform our Staff of any allergies or special medical conditions that you may have.

If you have any other questions at all, please ask!!!

2. How do I take care of my new tattoo?

Leave the bandage on your new tattoo for a minimum of 1 hour. NEVER bandage the tattoo again.

Remove it and gently wash the tattoo using only your fingertips and cool soapy water (anti-bacterial soap, dial is an acceptable brand).

Apply THIN coats (just enough to make it shiny) of Bacitracin or A+D Ointment for 3 days, 5 times a day (If your tattoo is oozing color you are probably applying too much ointment each time). After the third day, switch to a fragrance free skin lotion like Curel for two weeks, applying constantly as needed. Keep in mind you can shower every day and if small red bumps or a rash appears at any time cut back on the times per day you are applying the ointment.

The healing tattoo will be itchy and flaky. The flakes appear similar to the way sunburn peels, and they might have a little bit of color to them. This is normal.

DO NOT pick, itch, scratch or rub to much. DO NOT soak in a bath or hot tub, go swimming, or expose the tattoo to sunlight or tanning beds for at least two weeks.

Always remember to use sunscreen when going into the sun after the two weeks to further the quality of your new tattoo. If you have any further questions about the healing process, feel free to call us.
